Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend the New York City Veterans Day Parade Monday, and he was joined by Vice President Mike Pence and first lady Melania Trump.
It is truly an honor to come back to New York City to Madison Square Park to be the first president to ever attend Americas parade, he said, touting his New York City roots.
In his speech, he made reference to recent American military victories, including the operation to kill ISIS terrorist leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi last month. Trump also touted the satisfaction with Veterans Affairs health care.
His comments drew mild and subdued applause from the crowd.

..........During the laying of the wreath and the playing of Taps, Trump put his hand over his heart, but wife Melania didnt, which doesnt follow normal protocol for the playing of Taps..................

(11,248 posts)people in uniform have certain prescribed forms ... For everybody else it's just convention. And harping on it is just ... silly.
So, people in your family (or your little Whoville) didn't all take their hats off for the national anthem. BFD!!!
(and I'm not going to even get in to who the biggest flag wavers and "sticklers" for convention are now supporting!)
