(25,111 posts)and wonder, how in the hell can Republicans support and protect this administration and shithole?
Then I answer my own question - "cause Republicans are beholding to Russia as well".
Lindsey Graham, Rand Paul, McTurtle, Grassley, et al., AND House Republicans . . .

(16,723 posts)How does treason read regarding "enemy" in a hereunto, non-shooting "cold war" with a heavily sanctioned country (dictatorship) and ongoing nuclear rival? Soviet Union yes for decades. Current Russia? If the Congress has been compromised with rubles, coverted to dollars "campaign contributions/ donations" whether overtly or through an intermediary (say NRA) is that not treason as defined; giving "comfort to the enemy" by their pro-quo votes against, or to repeal sanctions, Ukraine aid, etc., etc.?

(2,495 posts)Obama was wisely concerned that arming people that might end up in a hot war with our nuclear armed rival Russia, could be seen as an act of war. That's why, while providing lots of other assistance, he opposed "lethal assistance".
None of that changes the fact Trump used that assistance to extort investigations but this stated concern would have been entirely reasonable.

(48,955 posts)That there would be an adverse reaction efforts to take territory in Europe for the first time since WWII?
Isn't this the crux of how Trump, and his sycophants, are acting in counter to the best interest of the country?
Ya, I know, I am preaching to the choir.

(1,648 posts)The reason the Republican Party keeps protecting tRump is because the republicans themselves are shackled to Putin. The only corruption republicans keep spewing about, is their corrupted links to Mother Russia. That is why they are so eager to project their corruption onto Dems.
