where in the hell does this ungodly administration and the SC think these hundreds of thousand people are going to go? This is the only country they know......where they have lived all of their lives.

they're bargaining chips for Trump. Right now, they have relatively little value, but Trump is counting on the SCOTUS to raise their value.

By the way, I saw some of the protests at the SCOTUS today, some of the signs were in Spanish. It seems to run against the grain of "We're as American as everybody else."

Trump is making a direct assault on Hispanics. Some Hispanics unfortunately think that they won't be impacted, which is a wrong thought IMO, because the end goal seems to be stripping anyone that is not White of the most basic right to citizenship.

This could turn into California Pete Wilson's "self deport" for the entire country.

I was looking up racial demographics for my red county last night. I know that I frequently encounter people speaking Spanish in markets and in the customer line in restaurants, but I didn't attach any special significance to that. It turns out that in 2017, something like 13% of the people in my county were Hispanic, that was before a wave of Americans from Puerto Rico arrived. Hispanics in my county outnumber Blacks, which I found stunning.

acts of grievous harm and amazing kindness pave our history like cobblestones.

as for learning how to divest our culture from cruelty, i think it will take far longer than any one, or ten, administration/s. and at every step, increased kindness will be opposed by people who derive some sense of satisfaction from social cruelty.

The squatter in the white house gave them permission to be loud and proud about it. They weren't so vocal before, but it's always existed. Look at history starting with Native Americans, slavery, Jim Crowe, any minority group, and even poor whites and women. They have always hated the others. Anyone who isn't a white man with wealth is disposable. They relish cruelty.

"President Donald Trump said on Twitter that DACA recipients shouldn’t despair if the justices side with him, pledging that “a deal will be made with the Dems for them to stay!” But Trump’s past promises to work with Democrats on a legislative solution for these immigrants have led nowhere.

So what would the deal be? Not impeaching him?
