The aid was delayed for so long that Ukraine's defenses against Russia have eroded, and people have died who might otherwise still be alive. The holdup was illegal, the reasons for the holdup were illegal, and people died.

I do think that it was made clear at the beginning of the hearing that weakening our ally against Russia was a weakening of our own national defense, but that point needs to be made again and again.

Our national security and defense was needlessly weakened by corrupt and illegal behavior at the behest of the president sworn to protect the nation. He forswore his oath to the people, full stop.

when he made the point that a commanding officer could not hold up action on the battlefield, placing his troops at risk until someone provided him a personal benefit, without betraying his responsibility to the nation and the men and women under his command. He pointed out that such behavior would require disciplinary action, a court martial.

He took over Tammy Duckworth's seat when she moved to the Senate. He's a Princeton (undergrad)/Harvard (law) grad.

You can feel he had a good grasp of history and its impact, including within the military.

How can that be correct? He had received no aid and knew it was overdue. Had he just know connected the holdup to the promise to create and announce dirt on the Bidens? I was listening on the radio, and it seemed confusing.

that I would like Amb. Taylor to record the outgoing message for my answering machine. What a voice.

More pertinent -- both he and Mr. Kent are obviously straight shooters, and both have delivered testimony today that is devastating for the Trump cult.
