What the Republicans accomplished today?

In my opinion, they have successfully prolonged this impeachment investigation. Everybody knows Mr Trump is a liar. Everybody knows that he puts his own interests over the interests of our country. Knowing his capabilities and his lack of character, Democrats have no choice but to continue the investigation until the truth is uncovered.

It is obvious that the Republicans are intent on making the investigation about everything except the acts and deeds of Donald J Trump. One "little phone call" is not enough to impeach.

The Democrats are left with the challenge of exposing more information on Mr Trump before they can feel confident in filing their Articles of Impeachment. The Republicans are obstructing their effort in the only way they know. Divert the attention away from Mr Trump and toward the Whistleblower, Barack Obama, or Hunter Biden, or someone totally irrelevant to the investigation.

The gamble for the Republicans is that this story is very fluid and can change from day to day and hour to hour. They have no idea what shoe may drop next? The Roger Stone trial, for example, has not helped Mr Trump at all. It shows that Mr Trump may have lied to the Special Counsel during his written testimony?

Personally, I would be surprised to see this investigation over by Christmas. Because the deeper they begin to dig, the more they are going to discover that needs investigation.

...but they do need a few more witnesses, in my opinion. For example, Gordon Sondland will be an interesting witness to call back and ask about the "new phone call" that was brought up by Ambassador Taylor today.

3. Absolutely. We need to get the crimes on record and do as much damage to Trump as we can.

There will be election fraud next year. We have to damage Trump enough to overcome it.

If the investigation goes over into the primary season, then so be it. There is plenty of evidence left to uncover.

Keep up the pressure on every republican in Congress.

Play from a position of strength and stay on offense.

Once Stone's trial disclosures and the information being collected by the SDNY US Attorney hit, all but the most ardent Trump asslickers will see him for the criminal that he is.

It's all about protecting the cult and their quest for absolute power than it is about serving the greater good of the country.

With this bunch it's not outside the realm of possibility, especially when the testimony turns to bribery and obstruction. I don't expect it, but there are so many things I never expected here that it wouldn't surprise me.
