WH Reportedly Flooded House GOP With Dozens of Talking Point Emails During Hearings and One Fumed: '

[link:https://www.mediaite.com/news/wh-reportedly-flooded-house-gop-with-dozens-of-talking-point-emails-during-hearings-and-one-fumed-stop-spamming-me/|

By Reed Richardson Nov 13th, 2019, 9:28 pm

The White House was in furious, rapid reaction mode during the first day of impeachment hearings of President Donald Trump, reportedly sending out as many as six to seven talking-point emails every hour to House Republicans, overwhelming them to the point of frustration.

This frenzied, behind-the-scenes spin control, reported by CNN’s Jamie Gangel, stands in stark contrast to the public posture of the White House, which has tried to blithely dismiss the hearings as “boring” and a waste of “time and money.” Trump, too, has attempted to affect a disinterest in his own public impeachment battle, claiming he would be “too busy” to watch the impeachment hearings. Yet he also still found time to post about them on Twitter 30 times on Wednesday.

Speaking to CNN political correspondent Abby Phillip, host Erin Burnett pointed out the conflicting narratives between the White House’s public and private strategies during the first, historic day of Trump’s impeachment.

“Abby, we’re hearing that the president says he didn’t watch, didn’t even watch a minute,” Burnett pointed out. “Jamie Gangel was reporting that the White House was emailing Hill Republicans sometimes six to seven e-mails an hour — there were six hours of this — and the Members were inundated, they complained, apparently one telling them, one wrote back: ‘Stop spamming me.’ What does that say to you that it was an onslaught?”

Maybe one of those bank-transfer scams with "Prince of Nigeria" replaced with "President of America".

What bait would tRump fall for?

Call out his manhood. Call him a yellow/orange chicken for not defending his (un)stable self. He’s ego is so fragile. Oh Daddy, please love me.

Flip it on him. He’s all bark and no bite. We all know people like this.

Spilt his support by showing his under belly. Chicken is as chicken does.

for his role in the crime and coveruo. So did Kleindienst, iirc. Nixon's personal atty, Herb Kalmbach, also was convicted or pleaded guilty to a crime.

The Supreme Court was majority Republican although those justices reflected the GOP's more sensible mores of the era.

The Senate was controlled by Dems, but many were southern, conservative Dems who today would be Republicans ala Richard Shelby.

Kissinger was Secy of State and a close advisor to Nixon.

Really not all that different than today, just less crazy.

I was politically active back then

Perhaps the RW Volume is louder thanks to Fox etc.

This feels so much more dangerous today

Hmmm Kissinger China.....perhaps USSR played a part on team Nixon. I remember feeling appalled when Nixon visited Mao the Mass Murderer

Trump says he hasn't watched "one minute" of the impeachment proceedings - he is too busy.

Evidence he is paying close attention;
** He tweeted 30 times yesterday during 1st day of public hearings;
** Also yesterday he emailed talking points to the Republicans questioning witnesses 5 or 6 times per hour for 6 hours.
** Last Saturday he tweeted 82 times (a record even for him):
** The website https://trumpgolfcount.com/displayoutings tracks every time and place that Trump plays golf. It shows that Trump has not played since Oct. 26.
