The Republicans have all their cards laid out on the table.

All they care about is protecting the cult. They currently have no interest in running the country. They will do anything to help Dear Leader usurp power and knock down his political opponents.

Their allegiance is not to America. It's to Fox News and AM hate radio. It's to white supremacy and nationalism. It's to the radical religious right and authoritarian theocracy. Their allegiance is to protect the throne. To spread hate and conspiracy theories attacking their components. To slam the press and ignore all the facts.

They have shown their poker face. It's time for the Dems to call their bluff.

If they see their entire leadership, along with their main sources of finance, in danger of legal proceedings so convincingly full of evidence against them that conviction is certain, they will attempt an outright takeover of the Federal Government.

As this would be the final shedding of any fiction of a democracy, and a blatant admission that their message has failed ("ustedes vencerán, porque poseen la fuerza bruta, pero no convencerán"--Unamuno), it would be the ultimate last resort--one that even they are reluctant to take. Plenty of their own blood would be shed by their more extreme elements, and there would be no going back later.

In the off chance I might accidentally come across one. My patience is already pretty thin when I drive as it is (I live in Los Angeles), last thing I need is something to make me angrier. It's best to just put on some good tunes and ignore the craziness.
