This jackass pictured below is the author of the article (he's probably one of those who beats his wife or dog until their skull is split open and then claims it's "just a scratch". If the child-minded public needs "pizzazz" to give a rat fuck whether the President of the United States is committing impeachable offenses by bribing foreign leaders for dirt on his political opponents and gravely endangering national security, then the public needs to grow the fuck UP. I suspect, however, that Mr. Allen is projecting his OWN juvenile mindset onto the American public rather than doing any actual journalism:

I suspect Allen is a Republican. He just used a different word to describe what the hearings mean to HIM. That ain't "journalism".

This is on a par with Chuck Todd's disgraceful interview with Rand Paul last weekend.

(11,007 posts)Only fat people vote Republican? Gonna start talking about how us fat people should be ashamed at how awful we take care of ourselves, and how you're just concerned about our health?
Jesus Christ. I didn't know that my weight was a marker of my political beliefs.

(11,007 posts)I'm not ashamed of my weight, but I HATE hearing people judged because of their weight, especially since it's usually phrased as some sort of faux concern for them.
It's early, I haven't had my coffee yet, but that struck a nerve.

Report the facts. Report the facts. Rinse. Repeat.

(8,203 posts)PIZZAZZ you say? What kind of rubric is that for a history-making impeachment inquiry in public? These shows dont come around that often. It is shoddy journalism to categorize yesterdays Congressional hearing as if it were a game show, a soap opera or a procedural.
or - This is a moronic headline that disrespects both your audience & our democracy. NBC News should immediately fire everyone responsible for this. Our country is in crisis and its survival depends on smart, competent reporting not analysis that treats this like a reality show.
or - his is reckless. We don't need pizzazz to convict a criminal. We need facts, and we got that in spades... So, try reporting facts, not pizzazz, next time.

this is your republic. The content of the witness accounts was
shocking. You want spectacle? Authoritarian governments can
give you content-free spectacle.

Irresponisble.
And they are insulting because they just keep lowering the bar of public discourse.
Actually, it's them who are stunningly boring and predictable!

(1,770 posts)listen without putting my tv at risk. I'll admit to muting during the repubs talking points. I tried to listen, but was bored with their comments and questions, even if they were accompanied by raising their voices. So I turned the volume back on to hear the answers of the witnesses.
And I felt hearing the words out of the witnesses directly added to the gravity of offences committed by trump and friends. And why it has taken so long to pull this all together.
I watched on cspan, tired of pundits. We all have been subjected to reality show drama for far too long.
