I don't own a telly, so maybe that's why I'm not getting the squirrel reference, but they seem to be everywhere !

...but the main source of the "Squirrel!" meme is from the Pixar movie "UP", where the villain has invented collars for his guard dogs that let them talk, to predictable results.

The "Squirrel!" meme is basically an updated version of pointing over someone's shoulder and saying "Look! It's Halley's comet!"
