"Thou Shalt Not Lie." When ? 3300 Years Ago in Bible. The reason Trump will not win.

...Honesty is the..."best policy" we are taught. So, I am not familiar with other religions, but I suspect that the major religions of the world have in their rules of living something similar to "Thou Shalt Not Lie". I really don't know about other religions, but someone here knows. (at least I am being honest on this)
...Why important? We are taught about this from a very early age. Why? When we learn to talk to our parents, they want to know the truth. "Did you touch a hot stove?" Yes, the 3 year old says. Or, if it is clear that his hand is burned and he/she touched the stove and the 3 year old tells a "No" , then there is a lesson on lying. We need the truth to survive and we all know and are taught that.
...Donald Trump lies all the time about everything and anything. He doesn't care, and it seems he never has cared. For that reason alone he cannot win. Since, he has been doing this all the time, a great majority of the people who vote in the United States know about "Lying Donald Trump."
...Republican leaders and their party support "Lying Donald Trump." Deep within all of us are those 4 words, "Thou Shalt Not Lie." We all know lying is wrong. Even if many of us lie a whole lot, we still know it is wrong. It is my opinion that is the reason that Trump will lose, and the Republican Party will lose because it still supports and has supported "Lying Donald Trump." It is simple. And, even a 3 to 5 year old knows about it.

One thing I've learned from the past three years is that millions of Americans - including many people who call themselves Christians, many educated professional people, and many people who consider themselves to be hardworking, ethical people don't care at all that their leader is completely unethical.

It turns out that millions of supposedly "values based" Americans don't care about values at all. They are complete hypocrites.

All they care about is money.

Remember this.

...Democrats won elections that were very close, and many expected us to loose. Deep within many of those "value based" Americans is another value: Thou Shalt Not Lie.. Trump cannot win, and the Republican Party cannot win because Trump lies all the time, and the Republicans support him. Many of those Republicans that do not support the liar, will simply not vote at all. That will be their protest. It is not complicated, all they have to do is.."not vote." Pretty simple.

don't give a shit about his lying. I've come to believe that, beyond the social interaction they have from going to church, they believe that by having their ass in the pew it will keep them from "going to Hell" when they die.

10. Obviously they don't really believe in hell, or they fooled themselves.

While they're trying to find proof that Jesus hated gays and uppity women and people of color, they skip right over the passages where Jesus actually said that rich people won't get into heaven.

invented their own rules for how to get into Heaven. Those same rules allow them the levity of leaving out the rest of the play book when it benefits their daily behavior. Most of them haven't even read the book, they just pick and choose passages they can distort to conform with their own world views, and of course, have their ass in the pew on Sunday.

6. bearing false witness is a very specific form of lying

It's not really reasonable to extrapolate from that to a very general, "thou shalt not lie".

For examples of bearing false witness, see the RW smear campaign against Hillary Clinton. One effect of that is that there are many people who are "uncomfortable" with her, without being able to give any specific reason for their feeling.

effective that is we will have to see, but it certainly cannot hurt. Hard to dispute it at least and may give pause to some.

8. "May give pause to some.." That's it. Let's say that "some" is 5%. or one in 20.

And that one in 20 are mostly Republicans because Democrats will vote in 2020. Maybe some Independents are in that one in twenty. They pause and think, "I am a staunch Republican or I favor that point of view", but I can't vote for Lying Donald. I will stay home this time. I can't vote for the Democrat, but I cannot vote for Donald Trump. That 5% is an extra 5% for us.
