Presidents aren't moved around the city for no good reason or for the convenience of medical personnel. If he left the White House to go to the hospital, it was because something needed to be done at the hospital that couldn't be done at the White House.

Blood work can be done at the White House but there are things that can't easily be done there. A cath procedure certainly would fit in that latter category.
