they could have a joint select committee to investigate all the crimes of Trump - appoint their own special prosecutor (like Watergate, IranContra and Ken Staff) instead of the much weaker Special Counsel like Mueller

investigate issues associated with Trump and his administration in order to craft legislation to affect change for future Presidents and administrations--e.g., administration failure to appear when subpoenaed, failure to adhere to the Hatch Act, issues associated with Trump and emoluments. None of this would directly affect Trump, but could expose a lot of what he's tried to hide.

Obviously, they could impeach others, including Pence, but unlikely at that juncture IMO.

And with various witnesses testifying about how much Pence knew and was involved, it is perhaps not a dream at all.

New York State could indict Trump as could the SDNY, but the state might have the better case. Added bonus: if Pence were to become president, he couldn't pardon convictions for state crimes.

prohibiting ever holding further federal office, if I'm not mistaken. If resignation makes impeachment impossible, then that penalty would be impossible to enact, if the about-to-be-impeached party simply resigned once the writing was on the wall.

GOP was obsessed over Clinton’s email server as a possible security risk. Time to identify and address the clear breaches in this administration.
