BECAUSE
Exactly, At this point they are too far gone to be considered a political party at all.. They need to be spanked really hard at the ballot box next year to be taught the error of their ways.

(1,402 posts)This is the best description of the reps I've ever heard!! Anyone who doesn't believe they are toxic, aren't listening to what they say and do. They definitely are not the rep party if old, they definitely have changed. This describes them to a T!! Thanks.

(10,150 posts)Everything the GOP does is to empower the filthy rich. They use to hide their obvious leanings but not so much anymore. But they still hide some of it. Soon they won't have to hide any of it.
For instance they don't come out and say the filthy rich should be able to do anything they want including raping your children. They hide this with racism and free market lies. But everything that Traitor Trump has done has been approved of by the richest Americans in our country. Pick your favorite rich idiot, and he or she has approved of Trump.
They want an orange bafoon and his Slovenian sex worker to represent them. Because they are just like Trump. They have the exact same moral compass as Trump and his "I don't care" sex partner.

Trump should have been impeached, convicted and removed from office same day as he posted that Tweet.

(1,789 posts)Lindsey Graham went from "our party has gone bat-shit crazy" to "nothing to see here". They created the situation they are in when they promoted a right wing media campaign that was detached from the truth and sought to make the election of a Democrat seem like a catastrophe instead of a setback. "America held hostage" was part of Limbaugh's opening in the early days of the Clinton administration. Everything was fine when the candidates offered up by the establishment either won or lost in close races that allowed them to argue there was no mandate and created a boogey-man to rail against. Rich people's taxes could be kept low either way.
Things got out of their control when their voters started rejecting the establishment candidates because they didn't hate the Democrats enough. The first sign that someone like Trump was on the way was when McCain got booed at his own town hall for saying Obama was a good man. They created a monster, a mob of voters willing to believe any bullshit or any bullshitter who spews venom against the left.
I don't think the establishment wanted the spot they are in now, where a drunken fan from the stands is quarterbacking the team, but it is their own fault and our nightmare.
