Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow exactly did Trump acquire the Old Post Office Building that is now the Trump International ?
The best that I can understand is that he knew someone in the GSA and got a favorable bid and was able to lease the building for like 99 years?
Has this ever been investigated? And is he up to date on the lease? Also, is he abiding by the agreement within the lease?
We now hear that he wants to sell his "lease"? Wonder which Russian oligarch will buy it? Wonderful location just down the street from the Capitol.
This transaction has always seemed very suspicious to me? But, its gotten to the point where every transaction is suspicious?

I miss the Old Post Office - I hope we can recover it and strip out Trump's gaudy crap.

(61,694 posts)Two years. MF45 is doing his best to turn this sale into a moneymaker for himself. A hotelier wanted the property and he doesn't want it to compete with his DC hotel.

(57,393 posts)It's four blocks away. The FBI wants to move out. If the site is vacated, a competitor to Trump could open up shop there. Trump has bollixed up the negotiations.
There are many links at DU about that. Here are a few:
