(4,291 posts)Clearly, youve been getting seriously fucked by your hero since 2016, maybe 15. Even elephants dont gestate that long!
All kidding aside, when this MAGAt shows up at the ER with chest pains or other avoidable heath issues, demanding a miracle cure, and only then finds out that his hospital bill and meager health insurance will push him into bankruptcy, will it dawn on him that elections have consequences?
Probably not. Too bad. So sad. Thoughts and prayers, dude!

(6,254 posts)favors Republicans. During the Iraqi war I asked a buddy who was in the Air Force if he liked Bush II. Love him he reflexively answered. This was at the height of the war when servicemen where being blown to smithereens by IEDs so I explored further. I asked why would you support a president who sent you to war without a plan to win, ill-equipped, and based on dubious reasons. He stood there with a blank look on his face and said I just love him. Republicans are proven traders and chicken- hawks at best. The Republican establishment are nothing but yellow bellied cowards. Bush, Cheney, Bolton, Trump all draft dodging cowards. Yes Bush II was in the reserves but I think we all know his service was a joke. In so far as traitors, well we Trump is an outright Russian asset and Cheney outed an active covert CIA agent. Gotta wonder what they see in Republicans.

(51,584 posts)and our soldiers are not to keen on the POTUS right about now...a lot of anger and frustration due to the many issues that effect them, especially pulling out of Syria the way tRump did it.

When it comes to foreign policy, the Trumpanzees will support whatever they're told is "good for America" by their talking heads.

(14,564 posts)Republicans would have went completely INSANE, the media would have pilloried him or her, and we would not have seen in another Democratic president in several decades.

(90,646 posts)From your user-name, I take it you are a Republican, although "dispondent." No matter, though joining DU will probably not cure your despondency.
I am curious about a few things, however, such as: how old are you really?
Old enough to remember the Cuban Missile Crisis? Any part of the Cold War at all? Duck and cover? Watching Berlin being spilt in half as the Wall went up? People trying to climb over, under, around, and through that Wall and being shot to death by Soviet soldiers? The novels of Alexander Solzhenitsyn that had to be smuggled out -- like Gulag Archipelago? Any of that? The credible, first hand accounts of the meticulous information kept on every citizen, used to terrify them into submission?
What does individually "taking on the USSR" mean to you? And what is "post CIS Russia"? because I never read that phrase before.
Are you implying this is some kind of joke?
Please do expand on your thoughts, because I didn't understand a word you said.
Oh, and by the way, DispondentRepublican: Welcome to DU. Enjoy your stay.

(1,722 posts)more media, politicians, and voters enter the "current reality" paradigm.
I say Trump wants to join the international club of vicious dictators -- in addition to doing whatever Putin wants.
I think Tom Delay back around 2006 admitted the Republican goal was one-party rule.
The Federalist Society has apparently been grooming lawyers like Barr and judges like Alito, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch for years.
I think it was Karl Rove who figured out that most religious folks would follow anyone who professed to be one of them, for example, George W, and especially anyone who was "pro life". That has opened the door to lots of con-men.
And there is the strategy of getting local Republicans into power when the 2000 census results provided the opportunity and excuse to redraw districts that are heavily and outrageously gerrymandered.

(4,435 posts)It was NEVER OUR AIRBASE.
We may have used its runway, and its buildings, but the airbase is inside another nation, and bases inside other nations are NEVER our to keep. They are only ours to use, to occupy, or to hold, as long as either the hosting nation invites us to be present,
Or, in cases like this, as long as it is required to hold to serve our nations needs and interests.
In this case, we let it go. It was never OURS to keep. Remember that, please.

(82,849 posts)The Republicans, led by Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods, couldn't say "cut and run" enough. Here's Donald, cutting and running with the best of them, and nary a peep from those quarters, is there? And wasn't it nice of the U.S. taxpayer to give Vlad and his troops such a nice housewarming gift on their move into the neighborhood?
