A question about transition of the Presidency when there is no continuity

Remember Michael Lewis’s book The Fifth Risk?

Among other big stories, he told of the thorough transition materials and training made available in every department to the Trump admin by the Obama administration to assist with a competent transition of power.

Of course none of the Trump incoming people showed up. Lewis was the only one who read them and showed up.

So what happens now, assuming the blot on our history is beaten like he stole something, which he certainly did?

1. Whatever career appointees (the Deep State /s)

left will have to pick up the slack. I got to think Trump and his minions will leave landmines all over the place. It could easily be the most dangerous transfer in history.

AG Barr got nearly unfettered access to the intelligence community's databases in pursuit of finding a perpetrator for the 2016 hacks other than Russia.

3. I read where it's supposed to be used as a basis for a Netflix movie.

Maybe it'll come out just before the next election

After all, Obama must have invited him to peruse the transition materials, and now the Obama's are connected with Netflix.

I really do feel that Biden is the only one who can get our country back on it's feet. Yes, he is establishment and old school, but he knows what they left before Trump threw gasoline and started lighting fires. The key is who he picks as his running mate!

4. Maybe so, maybe not.

He’s certainly likable.

I’m not sure he’s as sharp as Obama was, nor either Clinton. He bobbled at least the three responses in the second debate, all major distinctions, which was when I lost confidence.

I know I don’t have the wattage for the job and I don’t think he does either. Though cognitive capacity alone isn’t enough for the job either.

If he wins I’ll work my heart out for him.

We should probably continue this part of the convo in primaries.

5. I hope that digital copies were saved.

The Obama Administration was coping and saving as much data as they could, we can only hope they included all the transition manuals.

6. We have enough career people and good democratic political

Appointees that they would be able to pick it up. Especially if the winner is an experienced person like Biden.

7. In the interview Lewis explains that both admins are legally

Required to do this work.

Trump had teams do the work for six months but he fired them all the day after inauguration.

Knowing this jackass I expect he will not exactly get the job done- for us anyway.

Just small things like how the Obama admin tackled Zika.

Lewis says the book is a live song to the civil servant. That as you stay there are so many good people who could be making more money in the private sector but are choosing to serve their country. That if we keep disrespecting and abusing these people we will end up with the government we think we have.

I hope those good people are securing the Obama admin transition materials.
