(3,151 posts)Nunes would complain then he'd be offered the same amount of time. They would likely just dig the hole deeper. I doubt they want more time today. Especially after THEIR witnesses so eloquently threw so many under the bus.

Repubs desperately want everybody to turn off their TVs and computer streams, but it is not happening.

(25,951 posts)Everyone could figure out to watch the beginning, because Democrats go first. Then take a break while the Republicans quietly tread water, and come back for the finish at the end.
That works out great, even if people only sit through the beginning. It's the most important part.

(25,951 posts)Eisenberg's judgement was not Morrison's to question re moving the call record. Admin error again. Something in the content that could not exist on the lower server. Wait, earlier it was just political. What changed in the last hour?
There IS an exact record of what was said on the call. BEEP BEEP Testimonies are not matching Vindman's this morning. There had better be more questions about this in later rounds.

(1,660 posts)I end up doing this ( ) nearly to the point of brain injury every time I hear that BS argument.
It is NOT a "new charge." It is NOT "moving the goal posts." It is calling this what it is: EXTORTION. The "quid pro quo" was only part of it. It's just that those of us who speak ENGLISH understand "extortion" better...

(4,979 posts)I think Volker a few mins back, in regards to the July 10th meeting, basically said that its pronounced, big picture of the bilateral relationship.

(2,495 posts)This is from a lawyer who hosts the Opening Arguments podcast. Quid pro quo, this for that, are two of the elements of bribery.

(25,951 posts)Castor trying to make it sound like Vindman was leaking or not being forthcoming, not 'keeping Morrison in the loop' and going to the lawyers instead. This is actually pointing out that Vindman didn't trust Morrison and illustrating that Morrison was actually cutting Vindman out of the loop, not the other way around.
BumRushDaShow
(128,372 posts)that a sharp lawyer/questioner might bring up.
It sounds like Morrison was hedging his words to be diplomatic like a cat caught with a canary in its mouth.
The fact that BOTH of them went to Eisenberg seems to suggest that there was apparently an issue and the question might be what was discussed with Eisenberg by each (and whether Morrison was trying to find out what Vindman was doing).

(8,203 posts)It is in morrisons transcript...
Lt. Col. Vindman - by saying he was untrustworthy, and how dare he go directly to the lawyers without first talking to Morrison - doesn't he know the chain of command (Morrison had been in that position for a very few days after Fiona Hill left..)
Sen. Johnson made an effort yesterday trying to discredit Vindman..Susan Del Percio with Nichole Wallace went ballistic on Deadline MSNBC...(I tried to find the video..)
I would have loved to have Vindman, Hill, and Morrison testify together, with Morrison sitting in the middle....I read his transcript...

(15,265 posts)independent Ukraine. I think he was nearly as desperate as Zelensky for the WH meeting between Zelensky and Trump. I think he conveyed to Zelensky to say whatever Trump wanted to hear in order to get the WH visit. I suspect Volker thought Zelensky actually didn't have to follow up on whatever promise he made and may have even advised Zelensky so.
