but having dealt with these nut cases all my life, my guess is she won't.

I told her I read the NYTimes, WashPost, Wall Street Journal and the local paper every day plus I watch 2 hours of news a day. She said she doesn't trust the NYTimes or WashPost because they lie. I told her to find me one lie in either paper that was not retracted.

She won't. But the Yovonovich caught me a tad off guard as it rang a faint bell but I couldn't remember exactly where that particular lie came from. Thanks to everyone here for telling me what I needed to know.

What I really need to do is not talk politics with her. She loves me because I am a good bridge player (and good company). But yuck. Her politics are so irrational.

so I get it completely. Many of my friends are either apolitical or Republican. We don't talk politics. But they are wonderful people. It makes me crazy most of the time.

I'm fortunate to have been part of forming a Democratic Women's Club in my county and through that, have met many like-minded people who have become friends. It gives me some balance.
