However, I recall how the GOP collectively got that cow-with-cold-fingers-grabbing-its-udder look that Nunes displays here -- after the Access Hollywood tapes were made public. So I'm not getting ahead of things. Trump is a criminal and a traitor but, as Keenan Thompson's character on SNL recently said, it's still very possible that "ain't nuthin' gonna happen."

The impeachment hearing will lay out for the public the fact of the crimes. But a large part of the public has shown, repeatedly, that it's down with that. And an additional large segment may be terribly troubled by the crimes, they are still susceptible to the hateful droolings of Hannity, Carson, Ingraham, Limbaugh and others. Their misperceived choice may come down to: Who do you vote for, a known traitor and grifter or a pedophile-satanist who wants to eat your babies? If they choose not to vote for the grifter, they may decide not to vote at all.

And, as things look now, there aren't enough GOP senators who are dignified and honorable human beings to vote Trump out of office. He will be found innocent despite his obvious guilt.
