Too bad Dems won't say that Under Pres. Obama's watch, things of this nature never happened.

Dems and their messaging most of the time

Finally Eric Swalwell corrected the record and listed the money and military equipment the U.S. provided Ukraine under Obama. It was much more than blankets and MRIs.

Manafort also removed military support for Ukraine from the Republican platform in 2016 I think?

Flynn Promised Russia Sanctions Were To Be 'Ripped Up,' Top House Democrat Says

December 6, 2017 3:39 PM ET

Sanctions on Russia were to be "ripped up" early in the Trump administration, then-national security adviser Mike Flynn said on Inauguration Day, according to new information released Wednesday.

The new details suggest that President Trump and his aides not only were amenable to new negotiations with Russia about its bilateral relationship with the U.S — despite its attack on the 2016 presidential election — but had concluded by the time they took office that they would definitely void existing sanctions.

That information comes from a letter released by the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md.

Cummings quotes an anonymous whistleblower who described conversations with a onetime business partner of Flynn's on the day Trump took office. Cummings also calls on the Oversight Committee's chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., to issue a subpoena to the White House seeking more information about Flynn and others.

"Our committee has credible allegations that President Trump's national security adviser sought to manipulate the course of international nuclear policy for the financial gain of his former business partners," Cummings wrote. "These grave allegations compel a full, credible and bipartisan congressional investigation."

Which was he didn't want lethal military aid to go to Ukraine because it would just rile up Russia and make the situation worse.

He sent non-lethal aid. The Ukrainians, even at the time, were asking for anti-tank weapons because of the tidal wave of (mostly) old Soviet tanks that were moving in convoys to support the rebels in the Donbas. And which were responsible for some of their largest defeats, with hundreds of Uk soldiers dead.

I think that was a wildly poor misreading of Putin and said so at the time.

... about the previous President of Ukraine... and the uncertainty about the election. I know Obama would have a much better relationship with the new President... and we would be much farther along. The Republicans talking point is misleading, for sure.

all the training Obama provided to Ukrainian armed forces, and the equipment they’d need to use that training, and wrapped that up with “Thats a whole lot more than blankets, right Ms Cooper?” She agreed its was.
