I just did something I've never done.

I sometimes use C-SPAN to follow the hearings while I'm working.

I decided to keep it on during a pause in the hearings and listen to the call-in segment.

Where, exactly, do these callers come from? Half of the callers on the "Democratic" line are either Republicans or very, very ignorant people. Ditto for the alleged independents.

I was once surprised at how close I came to convincing a graduate student - a geology graduate student - that clocks in the southern hemisphere go in the other direction because of the Coriolis Effect. Now I know where such graduate students come from.

Those "Democrats" are Republicans. That would be easy to do and just the sort of dishonesty they'd relish.

C Span's call in line attracts a fair number of whackos. You'd think it wouldn't, but it does. It's the one negative about C Span.

but the right took it over long ago.
I did the same thing you did a couple of days ago and was saddened to hear that nothing had changed.
Such a waste of CSPAN time.

not many “fake callers” at that time, but it sure has changed now, don’t listen to them at all now.....

so you get a lot of paid callers on those chat lines, I'm sure. The phone equivalent of sock puppets and bots.
