Is it just me, or has DU quadrupled the "click bait" ad pics between the OPs and Comments?

Just scrolling through this morning, I've noted a huge increase in the number and size of the "Click Bait" pictures between the Original Post and the Comments section in a number of forums. Is this something unique to my home equipment, or is this the new normal here on DU?

Needless to say, I find it extremely annoying and time consuming to navigate down to the first comments. Is this something that can be disabled or hacked around?

I'm a big supporter of DU but this could be a real show stopper for me.

I noticed 166 ads when I opened this thread... and they kept on coming. Then I noticed I was not logged in.

Now it's back to "normal."

14. I opened the home page last night and audio started playing.

I closed it asap. I don't allow audio on my system I don't choose to play. If I have to, I'll quit coming here, before I'll put up with it.

24. According to my responses, they aren't showing up in every account...

Some ad blockers are working and others not.

The hack was caused by a DU advertiser who went rogue-- and Skinner is on the case.

I noticed that this morning too. Have to scroll down too far, and it is a deal breaker. Firefox updated, and no problem. Alternatively use the “reader view available” option on safari, but it’ll take some getting used to the new look.
