Devin Nunes Should Recuse: The Russian Winery Connection
Russian intelligence expert Zarina Zabrisky on yet another Russian connection of the Republican Congressman defending President Trump from his Russian Connections. Zarina Zabrisky 21 November 2019 According to the Daily Beast, the indicted Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas helped arrange meetings and calls in Europe for the Republican congressman Devin Nunes in 2018. But there is another reason why Nunes should recuse himself from the Impeachment inquiry. Congressman Devin Nunes joined Trump’s team as early as three days after the presidential election. On November 11, 2016, Nunes was appointed to the executive committee of Trump’s transition team, along with Trump’s three children, Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr. Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner The 16-member executive committee was set up “to advise President-elect Trump on the appointments of his Cabinet members and on appointments to other top positions in the new administration,” according to Nunes’ own statement. But the President-elect and the Republican congressman already had a business connection…. The Alpha Omega Winery Affair Both Nunes and Trump have investments in wineries. Nunes’ main investment is Alpha Omega Winery, to the value of $50,001 as of March 2018. The company was embroiled in a scandal in 2016 when a former employee alleged in a lawsuit that 25 of the Napa Valley-based winery’s top investors were openly using what appeared to be cocaine and “drawing straws” for which sex worker to hire. Devin Nunes: A Running Timeline of His Surveillance Claims and White House Ties
Wired, April 12, 2017 EXCERPT... Wednesday evening, March 22: Senator John McCain (R-Arizona), in an MSNBC interview, calls for a select committee to investigate Russia, saying that “no longer does the Congress have credibility to handle this alone.” Thursday morning, March 23: Nunes apologizes to his Intelligence Committee colleagues “in a generic way,” according to representative Jackie Speier (D-California), a fellow committee member. Nunes also tells the committee that they’ll see the documents on Friday. (This does not happen.) Thursday afternoon, March 23: A Nunes spokesperson clarifies that Nunes does not know “for sure” whether Trump or his associates were on the phone calls that were being surveilled or whether they were just mentioned in conversations between two or more foreign nationals. Thursday night, March 23: Appearing on Hannity on Fox News, Nunes explains his rationale for briefing Trump on sensitive information: "I felt like I had a duty and obligation to tell him, because, as you know, he’s taking a lot of heat in the news media," Nunes said. "I think to some degree there are some things he should look at to see whether, in fact, he thinks the collection was proper or not." Eric Swalwell Drops The Hammer On Devin Nunes
Rep. Swalwell went there: He introduced an article that publicly discloses Devin Nunes' shady "investigative work" with an indicted Rudy Giuliani associate into the impeachment record. By Red Painter Crooks & Liars, 11/21/2017 EXCERPT... During Thursday's Impeachment Hearing, Rep. Eric Swalwell dropped the hammer on Nunes when he put this article into the official Congressional Record. He read the first two paragraphs of the article while Nunes stared down at some paper in his hand. Then Swalwell pointed out that Nunes has been accusing Chairman Adam Schiff of being a "fact witness", aka someone who should testify because they have material or knowledge that could benefit the proceedings. Senate Report On NRA/Russia Connections Brands the Gun Group a ‘Foreign Asset’
NRA brass hoped to profit from a 2015 trip to Moscow, report states, raising questions about the organization’s non-profit status Tim Dickinson Rolling Stone, Sept. 27, 2019 A long-awaited Senate report into the connections between the National Rifle Association and Russia describes the NRA as a “foreign asset” and underscores the NRA’s connections to, and activities in, Russia could “jeopardize” the organization’s nonprofit status. The investigation, conducted by ranking member Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and the minority staff of the Senate Finance Committee, “confirms that the NRA, its officers, board members, and donors engaged in a years-long effort to facilitate the U.S.-based activities of Maria Butina and Alexander Torshin,” the report states. SNIP... The Senate report validates the DOJ’s conclusion that “the activity of those Russian nationals… amounted to an illegal conspiracy to gain access to American organizations through the NRA.” But it also makes clear that the effort was reciprocal, specifically that the NRA “was engaged in a years-long effort to facilitate Butina and Torshin’s domestic activity. “ The report zeroes in on the infamous December 2015 trip by NRA officials to Moscow, and concludes this trip was official NRA business — the gun group’s denials notwithstanding. The report states many of the American participants sought to advance personal economic interests on the visit sponsored by the non-profit. “The minority staff investigation confirms confirms Butina and Torshin utilized a network of Russian oligarchs and high-ranking Kremlin officials to bring the NRA to Moscow with promises of lucrative business opportunities with Russian entities,” the report states. “The trip included meetings with weapons manufacturers that produce weaponry for the Russian military and numerous entities and individuals under United States sanction or representatives and subsidiaries of entities under sanction,” it adds. CONTINUES... https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/senate-report-nra-russia-gun-foreign-asset-891859/ Swalwell did Democracy a huge favor. Well as some GOP members perhaps or perhaps all are comneted to known felons-this is now of the public record--could for Swalwell!! That is how we deal with trump's motly group of gouls and sycophants..we deal with them by getting them all on record cowering to, well you know who. |

He loses all seniority and goes to the end of the line.

like being called out by Dotard today. Great way to hit back, and possibly a lot more legally impactful.

56. Swalwell would make a great VP
I know we have a ton of candidates, running and not, who could fill that post with excellence, Swalwell is one of them, and I would venture to say that he is on the top of the list.
I would nominate Schiff for that as well, but I think he needs to run for the presidency eight years from now. |

64. Believe so...after 2018 election, before new Congress.
From Betsy Swan:
Congressional records show Nunes traveled to Europe from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, 2018. Three of his aides—Harvey, Scott Glabe, and George Pappas—traveled with him, per the records. U.S. government funds paid for the group’s four-day trip, which cost just over $63,000. The travel came as Nunes, in his role on the House Intelligence Committee, was working to investigate the origins of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election-meddling. Source: https://www.thedailybeast.com/lev-parnas-helped-rep-devin-nunes-investigations Wonder what other business he has overseas with players linked to oligarchs? |

65. I actually tweeted at Swalwell to do this.
Was hoping he would.
Of course, will it make a difference? Nunes won't be investigated. He won't be removed from Congress or the Intel committee, so sadly I'm sure it will just get lost in the mess. |

Lev Parnas Helped Rep. Devin Nunes’ Investigations
The indicted Giuliani associate helped arrange meetings and calls in Europe for the Republican congressman in 2018. Betsy Swan The Daily Beast, 11/21/2019 EXCERPT... Parnas’ assistance to Nunes’ team has not been previously reported. A spokesperson for Nunes did not respond to requests for comment. SNIP... When Nunes traveled to Europe in 2018, Giuliani—who is Trump’s personal attorney—was working to oust Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch from her post in Kyiv. The Justice Department indictment of Parnas and Fruman alleges they illegally moved money into American elections to “advance the political interests of... a Ukrainian government official who sought the dismissal of the U.S. ambassador to the Ukraine.” Source: https://www.thedailybeast.com/lev-parnas-helped-rep-devin-nunes-investigations |
