with this idea that family connections/experience are the way we should be choosing or looking out for our future leaders.
Michelle is amazing and has had and will have a fate all her own.

(13,760 posts)3. Yes I absolutely agree with that. If Michelle Obama decides that
she wants to put in the years of work necessary to create a meaningful political career, I will support her in every way (including with whatever miniscule amounts of money I can come up with).
I mean it that I think she is wonderful, but I think the idea that as soon as anyone even remotely connected with politics does something good in public, he or she is our next savior is really disrespectful of politics.
It reminds me of the posters on DU who are already assuming that Chelsea Clinton will be at least a Senator by 2014.
