Thanks, Republicans

Everything we Democrats (and other sane people) have long suspected about you and your party have now been not only confirmed, but proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

When your “pResident” lied repeatedly about his contacts with Russians, handed them classified information in an Oval Office meeting, and stood on the world’s stage and took Putin’s side over the side of our own intelligence community, your response was ”So what?”

When your “pResident” insulted our allies and embraced murderous despots, encouraged violence at his rallies, and praised white supremacists and Nazis as ‘very fine people’, your response was ”So what?”

When your “pResident” humiliated our nation by displaying his abject stupidity, his complete lack of knowledge of history and current events, and his lack of understanding of the responsibilities of his office, your response was ”So what?”

When your “pResident” labelled Muslims as terrorists, Mexicans as drug-pushing rapists, and predominantly brown/black nations as ‘shithole countries’, your response was ”So what?”

When your “pResident” appointed inept cronies to cabinet posts and other positions of power, when his close associates were charged with crimes and pled guilty and/or were imprisoned for their crimes, your response was ”So what?”

And now, as your “pResident” stands accused of trying to extort our ally, Ukraine, into delivering ‘dirt’ on a political ally under the threat of losing much needed, life-and-death financial aid in order to protect themselves from Russian aggression, your response is ”So what?”

There is only one conclusion to be drawn. You Republicans don’t give a shit about this country. You don’t give a shit about your oaths to uphold the Constitution and protect and defend the nation from all enemies, foreign and domestic. You don’t give a shit about facts or the truth. You don’t give a shit about our country being led by a “pResident” who is under the thumb of adversarial foreign powers, and whose sole concern is his own greed for power and money.

If there was any doubt about the Republican party being corrupt to its core, those doubts have now been erased. If there was ever any hesitation about calling Republicans what they have proven themselves to be – traitors to their own country – that hesitation has been rendered inoperable.

Throughout the impeachment hearings, you Republicans have impugned the integrity of dedicated civil servants, you have questioned the honesty of witnesses whose credentials are above reproach, you have the maligned the patriotism of those who have risked their jobs and their personal safety in order to expose the corruption they have witnessed firsthand.

You knew when you elected your “pResident” to the highest office in the land that he was a lying scumbag whose history includes cheating people out of their money via his fake ‘university’ (now shut down), running a ‘fake’ charity (now shut down), a sexual predator (and self-declared ‘pussy-grabber’), a racist who was sued for discriminating against black/brown renters in his apartment buildings, a ‘successful businessman’ who refuses to reveal tax returns that could expose where his money actually comes from, and an all-around lazy lard-ass who spends his time tweeting bullshit between golf games.

So now we know who you GOPers really are. You are the people who can’t be appealed to on the basis of your patriotism, your moral rectitude, your desire to uphold the law, or your commitment to do what is right for the country and its citizens – because you have amply demonstrated that you are bereft of all of the above.

So thanks to all of you. Thanks for removing any doubt of your willingness to sell out your own country. Thanks for showing your true colours by protecting the lying, corrupt traitor you put in the White House. Thanks for demonstrating your own corruption – which is now beyond apparent.

We always suspected you were self-serving traitors – so thanks for finally proving it for once and for all.

Their MAGA supporters are so stupid, that they don't realize that when the Republican party installs their tyranny and have no further use for them as supporters and voters, they will quickly trash them, just like they have tried to destroy the rest of us..........
Look at what Trump's Administration has done to their high level backers who have outgrown their usefulness......A quick shoving under the nearest bus, or declared "an enemy of the people"......

even if the democrats take the White House and both houses, as long as the republican party is allowed to operate without the democratic party or the media constantly pointing out how corrupt and treacherous they really are, in short, as long as the republicans are treated as an American party instead of what they really are, they are a danger to our republic. the time for civility is well passed, the time for honesty has been here for a long time.
we do need to learn our lessons from the past several decades, but especially the last 4 years, since trump announced his candidacy. we need to get rid of the electoral college, we also need to change how the senate is run. we cannot allow one person, elected in one state to control the entire process the way Moscow mitch has. one major thing, we certainly know the cancer of racism, sexism, etc. are still very prevalent.
I could go on, but we all know the situation.

The pre-Trump Republican Party was rotten to the core. That's why Trump was possible. He didn't happen in a vacuum.

We have these concrete examples of Republican indifference to Trump's lawlessness. Might as well pile on Trump's pardon of war criminals while we're at it. Republicans obviously think that Trump, the five-time draft dodger, knows military protocol and law better than the courts martial. I decline to hear any further bleating from Republicans about supporting the troops.
