Maybe a former lower-level attorney allegedly did something!

The employee was forced out of the FBI after the incident was discovered, two U.S. officials said. Horowitz found that the employee erroneously indicated he had documentation to back up a claim he had made in discussions with the Justice Department about the factual basis for the application. He then altered an email to back up that erroneous claim, they said.
That conduct did not alter Horowitzs finding that the surveillance application of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page had a proper legal and factual basis, the officials said.

(8,203 posts)- it was updated this morning..7:28am - so After CNN first reported on the investigation, the Washington Post reported that the inspector general concluded the alteration did not change the validity of the surveillance application.
IG concluded the alteration DID NOT change the validity of the FISA...I can't repeat that enough -
I followed this story last night, and in doing so, when I clicked on a site (stupid me) my computer got so locked I had to unplug and remove my battery (laptop) and then start again..the RW/RT bs is everywhere, in fact cnn published 1 hr after "Townhall" and other bs stories -
Several witnesses to the FBI inv. surrounding the FISA appl. have testified..all the way back to last summer...
I am not going to speculate why CNN would publish the story so explosive..
This is a big catch..thank you

(29,556 posts)A de minimus alteration of a document that does not affect the validity of the proceeding gets fly-specked and the hapless factotum who did it is cashiered. Trump and Giuliani publicly confess to inviting foreign interference in the 2020 election for personal gain, and it goes away because some nonsensical magic word Republicans just made up wasn't used.
It's like when Romney tried to attack Obama for not calling Benghazi a terrorist act (Obama called it an act of terror) soon enough to suit the nitwit battalion of the wingnut brigade, and the media obediently went haring after that shiny object until Obama blew it to smithereens at the debate ("please proceed, governor" ). Neither the wingnuts nor the media have learned a damn thing since then.
