American millennials' mental and physical health is on the decline

Without proper management or treatment, millennials could see a 40% uptick in mortality compared with Gen Xers of the same age, the report found
Behavioral health is a key factor in the decline of millennials' health; the generation has seen rises in depression rates and in "deaths of despair"
The financial burdens millennials are facing can not only affect their mental health, but prevent them from seeking treatment at a time when healthcare costs are climbing
American millennials aren't exactly the picture of health.

They're seeing their physical and mental health decline at a faster rate than Gen X did as they age, a new Blue Cross Blue Shield report found.

The report used a baseline projection representing historical outcomes of "health shocks" and an adverse projection of current trends. It's possible this decline could be rectified with proper management and treatment, but without intervention, millennials could see a 40% increase in mortality compared with Gen Xers of the same age, the adverse projection showed.

observed a serious epidemic of Trump/republican induced despair in their depressed and anxious patients. She said that they have never seen anything like that before on such a widespread level. It is a serious problem for people trying to recover.

People are in despair, and so are they, so it’s hard work to remain steady and try to help. I think if for some insane reason he gets re-elected it’s going to go through the roof.

It makes you think that there is no justice in this world and that those who are hateful and vicious are going to be victorious despite the fact that they are so wrong. It is heartbreaking. It really is.

Tyrants fall. It might take time but unless we just kill the planet I think humanity will continue to cycle. Hopefully the spiral will go up, not down.

I've survived two suicide attempts. One being fueled by anti depressants. Given how this world is and well how messed up everything is in terms of economic conditions. Yeah no one my age can really keep up anymore

of every day. Also, have one simple, doable thing in each tomorrow that you look forward to getting done, it doesn't have to be important to anyone but you, and it can be very simple, like eating a favorite meal, taking a walk in a comforting place, going for a peaceful drive, just always have one thing that you look forward to doing tomorrow. Lastly, view any failure as a stepping stone to success, too many people give up when they fail instead of learning from the failure and moving forward.

Oh, and if you feel that you need to eat a pint of ice cream or a box of cookies in one setting, don't sweat it, just don't make it a habit, use it as your comfort blanket that allows you to reset your soul.

Into needing a liver transplant. According to one surgeon I talked to, “It’s an epidemic”. A lot of despair and self medicating. People in their early 20’s to 40’s

Needing a transplant isn’t the same a getting one either.
