I can't stand listening to him, but this was precious. I'd love to see someone do thought balloons over the Fox buffoons. Surely this is theater for them. They look like they really can't stand him.

if they went with a safe word, no one would've heard it.

It reminds me of my dad's later calls. It turned out he had Dementia. Stage 4 Dementia is also known as Covfefe.

And we do. Because someday there will come a time when you’ll never be able to hear them ever again.

During the first few months, when these batshit crazy rants are still getting good ratings, every cable and radio host will take his calls, listen to his loony lies and conspiracy theories, and probably encourage him to call back. Scarborough will have him on every morning for an hour. Christ, he'll probably even call the Maddow show.

After a time, when the novelty wears off and sponsors complain, the only ones who'll take his daily calls will be Limbaugh, Hannity and Alex Jones. After those guys bail, it's twitter 24/7. It looks like we're stuck with this loathsome, lumbering oaf till he's dead. God, when will this long nightmare be over?

from his base even though shooting someone on 5th Avenue would not.

They don’t care how outrageous, criminal or cruel he is. That’s a feature, not a bug.

What they want more than anything is a leader who is:
1) strong, a winner; and
2) on their side.

Out of control behavior like that makes him look like a weak-minded dementia patient. Much better there than on other TV channels. That nicely takes care of element 1. Just kick back, make some popcorn, and let him keep digging his own ditch.

Now, onto element 2, anyone got some candid camera video of him maligning his base?

We need to work out details of who would conduct the evaluation. I suggest professional non-partisan mental health organizations.
