But I just checked on her and her last post was February 13, 2013, so she's been off DU even longer. I really hope he's okay - and she was quite witty, too, no big surprise.

That would have been right at the start of DU.2. But he did come back and posted for 11 years after that. I wish she'd check in, too, since she has to know he's missed here. That's why she originally signed up.

He even had a special name for me, LOL. I just hope he's okay and gracing some other pastime with his presence. He once told me that his "hobby" was "partisan war," or rather the study of it.

not since 2014. It is sad to think that we might not know the fate of some missing long term posters we've all enjoyed for years.

If he was as well-known and beloved as appears to be, then it seems unlikely that he was chased away by a mob with tar and feathers. If he had grown tired of DU, he may have tapered-off over time... or announced that he was moving to Tahiti and web service would be spotty (or whatever). If the departure was sudden, as it appears to be, then it seems likely that he passed away.

Sounds like DU is poorer with his absence.
