at the very end and will keep their vote a secret to avoid GOP backlash? Bill Krystol just said he believes this on MSNBC. I think he is delusional and none will vote that way EVER in both the House and Senate.

It's just an educated guess. Statistically likely we get a couple. Many retiring and have little to lose.

(24,455 posts)The Party has been bred to produce legislators with no backbone or conscience. They can't govern, they can only pledge allegiance to their Party. That's OK, I hope. Because the evidence is front and center and dots are getting connected everyday. If 60% of the public wants Trump gone and the Republicans refuse to do their constitutional responsibility, they will, hopefully, pay the price in the 2020 election cycle.

Of course there's a 4 in 5 chance he's bluffing or exaggerating. But failing truly incontrovertible evidence appearing, you're getting a straight line vote in the house, with less than 10 red district Dems crossing over, and no more than 45 votes in the Senate, with no Republicans crossing over.
The point of this exercise is not to get rid of Trump. The point of the exercise is to make a bunch of Republicans defend acquitting a criminal in the White House in 2020
