(25,423 posts)I'm pretty sure it's not for sale. It can't continue to wreak havoc and influence policy if it's sold and shut down.
If it was that easy, someone like Warren Buffett and/or Bill Gates might have organized an attempt already.

(36,413 posts)They aren't going to do anything about Fox, either. We've conceded the narrative on almost every issue. Even our campaign slogans are weak. It's like our side doesn't believe in marketing. I don't get it. And now we have two billionaire candidates who claim they are concerned for the country. Then buy some radio stations in the heartland, pay for some top notch writing talent, & run the things at a loss if you have to. That's how they could help the party.

(51,560 posts)In an interview a few months after the election Obama said that we have to get Fux Ruse off of all the TVs in all the bars, etc across the country. He didn't do it while he was in office though. Maybe he wanted to "reach across the aisle" and not offend the Tea Party.

(12,356 posts)But every few years, ya read Faux News is going down, and it never happens.
Ya not going to break it.
Ya just have to get out the vote, door knock, campaign for ya candidate, seen open minded
people the facts, get the person you know is a democrat who doesnt vote, and give them enough
information that makes them want to vote.
Unfortunately you wont take down Faux, nice thought, but its here to stay.

(1,836 posts)Best thing we can do is studiously and publicly expose every instance of the lies they peddle. Some will never be convinced, but some may, eventually, be pushed over the edge by the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. Best we can hope for really.

(94,294 posts)Fox News is a symptom, not a cause. Its not taking liberals and converting the, to conservatives; a Its telling conservatives what they want to hear. Get ride of Fox and the audience will switch to Newsmax or OANN or some new media source.
