So, I deleted my Facebook page last week, followed all the instructions. Last night I thought to check to see if my effort was good. Brought up the Facebook sign in page and did the usual sign in and WOW, there it was, my page as if I had never left. Furthermore, I got an email welcoming me back! "Facebook is a social media disease", that you can never get rid of. Let's call it face-herpesbook. "It's alive," just like a zombie, but with herpes.

(9,944 posts)... but, now you may have to re-delete. They give you the option to deactivate or delete. If you pick delete, there is a time period where your page can be retrieved. This is for people that delete on a whim... then realize they either want to stay, or want some of the stuff they had on Facebook. So, you went back like one of them... I've never deleted and enjoy Facebook. I have friends that deleted, though... one wanted me to watch and he was deactivated because his name showed up in my Friends List.. when it disappeared, his account was deleted. I reported it to him on email (and they watch you just as much as Facebook).

(959 posts)but when you 'delete' your facebook account you are told that it will be deleted after so many days of inactivity. (30-45...something long like that). So when you logged back in after a week, BOING! its going to be active and the counter starts again.
I killed off Facebook years ago. And anything you sent them, like pictures, is now their property.
