Donald Trump declares there's a war on Thanksgiving -- and vows to stop it

President Donald Trump, at his pre-Thanksgiving campaign rally in Florida, made a startling claim: there’s a sinister plot brewing — to change the name of Thanksgiving.

The president didn’t specify where the Thanksgiving threat is coming from — but he vowed to lead the resistance and crush the threat.

The president raised the issue minutes after he took the stage at the BB&T Center in Sunrise before a filled-to-capacity crowd of some 20,000. After his speech, he helicoptered to the place he spends every Thanksgiving, his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach.

He wandered, rhetorically into the topic after explaining “I’m working my a-- off,” praising Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and urging people to register to vote.

“As we gather together for Thanksgiving, you know some people want to change the name Thanksgiving. They don't want to use the term Thanksgiving [at which point the crowd booed loudly] that was true also with Christmas, but now everybody's using Christmas again remember I said that [the crowd cheered]. But now we're going to have to do a little work on Thanksgiving people have different ideas why it shouldn't be called Thanksgiving. But everybody in this room I know, loves the name Thanksgiving and we're not changing it.”

I knew as soon as he opened his mouth it was another lie, but disappointed that he wasn't clever enough to think of some name like he did with Christmas v/s Happy Holidays. I actually remember what was behind the Christmas name. Many businesses opted for Happy Holidays to please ALL their customers, whether they celebrated Christman, Quanza, Hunakkah, or another holiday.

Thanksgiving OTOH isn't a religious Holiday, it's an American Holiday & he shouldn't have messed with it!

Obama stopped the repugs from causing a second great Depression, and those same Rump fans can never be led to admit there was even a threat that a depression could ever have occurred.

Any actual threat that gets averted by adults, there's no way to force the repugs to admit a probable negative outcome was averted. They'll just jeer 'it never happened, it never could have happened. You can't make me admit there was ever a chance it would have happened.'

Preventing negative outcomes doesn't count as a success, because repugs don't count staved off threats as 'success'.

BUT, they'll jump right on board this cheering this fake 'victory' over this fake threat that this fake, fat fuck just blew out his ass, they'll openly crow about it to normal reality dwellers. We can't make them admit reality, but we should all listen while they tell us their fantasy about how they were attacked and stopped this hellish possible future from coming into being.
