Next time some con says they vote for the economy when they vote for repubs

show them this

https://www.jec.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/democrats/2016/6/the-economy-under-democratic-vs-republican-presidents

It has often been suggested that Republicans are better at overseeing the economy than Democrats. However, an analysis of economic performance since World War II under Democratic versus Republican presidents shows that claims that Republicans are better at managing the economy are simply not true. While the reasons are neither fully understood nor completely attributable to policy choices, data show that the economy has performed much better during Democratic a

These FACTS are available from more sources than this.

Thom Hartmann speaks of this often, that the dems ALWAYS do better, period.

It is a FACT. So NO you do NOT vote on economics, Mr. Con, you vote for repubs to enhance your RACISM and bigotry and for no other fucking reason.

especially because there are two categories under #1.

a. They are willfully ignorant and thus uninformed by choice.

b. They are not willfully ignorant, and thus innocently uninformed.

I find 1a to be much more probable than 1b when it comes to Repub rubes.

Yeah, right. That's more BS. Most people understand cutting taxes (on the wealthy) and deregulating (corporations), the usual Republican policy choices, only makes the rich richer, and everyone else worse off.

Most of today's Republicans - and for the last 25+ years, really - vote that way because of racial hatred.

In my younger, more effervescent days, I used to show GOP acquaintances these very charts - and they either gave me glazed (almost bovine) looks, or started off with something along the lines of: "the way Democrats give black and hispanics welfare, we'll go bankrupt in 10 years!"

That's what it's all about for them. Most of them, anyway.

As useless as they are as far as policy, GOPee bigwigs are masters at framing the narrative and using people's own pettiness.

Not that it must've been too difficult - what with all the millions of Archie Bunker and Jim Crow types in this country, sadly.

10. Rich Republicans. Two different segments to me

The Republican Party realized that they can not exist without appeasing the base bigots. The rich couldn't give two shits about the crazy and disenchanted; nor the extreme social and religious views; nor the deficits..they just know they need their votes and want to make as much money as possible. Figure out a way to separate these segments and they are doomed forever. Personally, think a nutty 3rd party could do it.

But if convincing the idiots that the jew and the black and the Mexican are the root of all their problems (instead of they themselves) is the avenue to keeping more of their filthy lucre, you bet your ass they're gonna do it.

Because what do they care if theres another civil war?
It isn't their kids that are gonna die, and they have the resources to finance selling guns to both sides.

But here's another truth...bet the rich are not thinking they would have had to ever sink this low..aligning with hate. But it's a pause, a thought, then "Oh well, pass the Poupon.."

in the upper crust to write an anonymous book about how they really feel and how Republicans communicate on this level. I have always thought it was in whispered conversations in private clubs and cocktail parties and on golf courses, away from the masses.

Like we always know if something is good and decent and helps someone we are for it - what is it like to be driven by the opposite?

They looked back at the previous 80 years, which by coincidence had 40 years of Democratic rule and 40 years of Republican rule. By every single metric, the economy did better under the Democratic presidency. From household income, to per capita GNP, Dow Jones, recessions and the great depression, etc. There is no doubt that the American economy does better with a Democrat as president.
