Credit where credit is due... I think it looks beautiful.

(26,044 posts)Glad she decided to do the traditional thing and stop her punking of America at Christmas. Props to whoever convinced her to act human for once.

Lots of people die there.
No one has a care.
(My apologies to the B-52s.)

(18,469 posts).... put a string on it and hang it around her husband's neck. Let it lay across the lapels of his outer jacket for the world to see. Not that he could achieve such a thing, but rather to remind him not to be a royal fuck up day in and day out as he screws up America and causes irreparable damages.

(4,783 posts)the extravagance of her sickening spending knows no limits, and is beyond control.
And this year we give our retired citizens, most of whom worked decades at low wages all the while faithfully contributing their share of taxes, a paltry 1.6 percent, not even half of their real cost-of-living increases in 2019.
But we promised them when we took their money they would get an increase at least covering last year's cost-of-living increases.
But then, what's a promise? More lights for the trees, more wreaths for the windows you missed in the attic and basement windows, please.

(9,696 posts)Every administration decorates the White House for the holidays.
If you want an example of wasting tax payers money, look no further than golf, or the "wall".

(8,772 posts)For my taste, it is woefully overdone. Looks like a Hallmark Christmas movie gone rogue. Fully expected to see her baking cookies for the masses. Why does she have an overcoat thrown over her shoulders? When will we be rid of these people? What have we done to deserve this punishment?

(6,675 posts)number of trees per room? I don't believe any previous First Lady put that many trees per square foot in the WH before.

I can't even look, because I simply can't appreciate it. I can't separate the monsters responsible from any perceived beauty. There are no positive values there. YMMV, though. Rant over.

(11,412 posts)I associate them with Easter: they're a spring flower, and when I was a kid they were the main Easter decoration in our church.
Mel's (or whoever actually did the designs - I'm sure she just commissioned them) decorations always leave me cold. There's never another living creature anywhere in sight: just yards of cold, sterile, glitter - what a mannequin's idea of a festive environment looks like. This year's show reminds me of an upscale hotel lobby getting dolled up for the end of the year holidays - only slightly less inviting.
OTOH, it IS better than the previous attemps. It's still to cold and gold to be welcoming.

(12,596 posts)Yeah she has added a not so bizarre tree or 2 but that hall of white is very ugly.
Then she roams around like she's in a department store all by herself, no family, no teenage son, no loving husband. If I had a Christmas like that I would hide my children at their grandmothers too.
She just has no idea about genuine normal families and how they celebrate Christmas.

(42,862 posts)Cold. Lifeless. Heartless. It looks like a department store, not a warm cozy home that's filled with love and tradition and memories. She's vapid and has zero taste.
