1. Not all liberals are virtuous - it's just that any lack of virtue on their part

isn't because of their ideology, so it's possible to be both liberal and an asshole or a crook. But there's something inherently shitty about the conservative philosophy itself. As John Kenneth Galbraith said, "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."
