Climate change is affecting food production

Wish I could say that I was surprised that the M$M isn't treating this as an important of an issue as Black Friday or Popeye's chicken sandwiches.

Every DUer who is now living in an area that's expected to be flooded out ought to have moved already or be in the process of doing so.

I'm converting my entire back yard into a fruit orchard and vegetable garden. I'm canning foods, My wife and I have enough food on hand to last 30 days and enough water for 45 days.

A plus is that I enjoy gardening, doing projects and learning new skills so it's not really work for me. Enjoyable hobbies that prepare me and my wife AND extended family for interruptions in availability of food, other commodities and services such as electricity, water and so on.

8. Just finished gathering materials for an emergency composting toilet I'll be putting in the basement

Was at the shop cleaning things up and I savaged some shorter pieces of 2 x 4s which I'll be making the composting toilet frame out of and I saved the nails I pulled out. Also got a small sheet of 3/4 OSB board for the top and a 5 gallon bucket from the storage building for the waste. Plus I got 4 pieces of cement block which I'll put the toilet on to keep the wood frame off the floor which gets wet during spring thaw.

I have a 55 gallon barrel filled with water in the basement for emergency toilet flushing but that would last only a few days.

I still need to get compostable liners for the 5 gallon bucket, a toilet seat and a bag or two of pet bedding. I have a small bathroom vanity, complete with sink, drain assembly and faucet, stored in the attic which I'll bring down for hand washing.

I think that I am familiar with the fact that you are going to ignore this particular problem until it swims up and BITES YOU ON THE ASS.
