The husband gives his anorexic, and needs to eat a sandwich, wife a piece of exercise equipment that he doesnt even bother to gift wrap, so she shoots a video of herself using the bike as a gift for him.
Someone at Peloton did not understand O. Henrys The Gift of the Magi.

I mean, it seems to me like the former was more the look/vibe they were going for, but I could be wrong ...

(33,643 posts)As 'surprises' ... it offends me on a whole bunch of levels ... the primary one being it's trying to put the idea in men's heads that 'real men who really want their spouse to love them have a lot of money and they're so manly they can make decisions on big ticket items all on their own, and women are always impressed and delighted by such surprises, along with this admirable trait in those real men!'
I would never in 1000 years thought about 'buying my wife an expensive car as a gift' w/o talking to her about it. But then, my wife left, so ... what do *I* know?

(30,730 posts)you are correct about not buying a car without talking to your wife.
My husband did that to me. It was not an expensive care like a Lexus, but he still should not have done it. I let him know what a shithead he was, too.

(762 posts)you pay $58 dollars a month. It looks all peachy keen until you realize that it's another $39 a month for the video trainer part. That's about $100 a month. Not for the budget conscious I guess.

Damn, who the hell wants someone screaming at them like that at daybreak on the damned exercise bike? Those ads honestly make me homicidal. (fortunately, I'm by nature a pacifist)...
