Got nailed by a 7.9 earthquake here in Costa Rica this morning......

....my house shook hard for a good 30 seconds and the ground continued to shift for another 30 seconds after that.

Strongest quake I have ever felt.

Yeah, it was a bit unsettling. The epicenter was up in Guanacaste, about 80 miles from San Jose.

Anyway, I'm stuck here in San Jose at least until the weekend. Hopefully the shaking is done for a while.

We were down there a couple of years ago visiting my daughter and her family who stayed in Montezuma for a year. This is close.

downgraded (albeit only somewhat).

I saw that news come across my Twitter this morning and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the location. I have been to Guanacaste - my favorite vacation spot (and possible retirement destination).
