Okay boys and girls, who can answer this: what is the single most important factor in winning an
election?
Any guesses? Nope, not money. Not ideology. Not electability. Give up?
It's MOTIVATION TO VOTE brought on by ENTHUSIASM.
When Obama ran against McCain, the polls favored Obama by a few points. The results of the voting showed Obama doubled the number of electoral votes McCain had. Obamas poll numbers did not give any indication of the landslide that awaited. Why? Because people who are polled in the comfort of their home will answer a question easily, getting your ass to the polls in the rain, voting when dealing with jobs and kids- that takes MOTIVATION brought on by ENTHUSIASM.
The stark contrast between the RNC and DNC is messages, inspiration, ideology, all of those things. But that electricity in the air, that ladies and gentlemen is a game changer. You can't package that, you can't spin that. That was enthusiasm.
The barnburning speeches were not what caused the enthusiasm, the enthusiasm caused the barnburning. It was a sight to see, wasn't it?
