Has anyone changed their mind about impeachment since yesterday?

I am more convinced than ever that it needs to be done.

The Democrats need to lay down a marker. Because there is no one else in our government that will do it. Mitch McConnell has indicated that he will be working hand in glove with the defendant in the Senate trial. Without Nancy Pelosi and the House, Donald Trump has complete control of our government.

It really doesn't matter how many articles of impeachment they are voting on. Most everyone, especially in the House and Senate, know what Donald Trump has done in the past. None of them know what he may do in the future?

The Democrats are right. The crimes are happening even as we speak. Even though all the witnesses came forward and explained exactly what was happening in the back channels to Ukraine, Donald and Rudy could not wait. Rudy was sent over again to collect dirt on Joe Biden. And maybe make a documentary? He may be in Ukraine tonight? Everybody knows they are shady characters.

Are they a threat to our national security? Probably so.

That is why the Democrats have a constitutional duty to continue with the impeachment. There is no evidence they will do anything otherwise?

Even though, they have no expectations that the Senate will do anything other than acquit. Some might feel he should be "censured"? Or they could try to acquit him with 51 votes?

After all, if 4 or 5 Senators voted with the Democrats to find him guilty, as charged, then the politics in the Senate could get very interesting.

I think it will backfire to some extent after the Senate acquittal. I hope I am wrong.

Nevertheless, the majority of Americans oppose the orange clown. We'll deal with him in November 2020 to the full extent of the law.

in my opinion.

I don't think Donald Trump is going to change?

People need their jobs. They are not yet ready to surrender their present economy for vague ideas like democracy, Constitution, legalities, impeachment, etc. That is the challenge. There is a massive vacuum within our education system.

I have heard people say that they "Hate Trump but will vote for him because the economy is doing well... This is a dangerous meme.

Actually, for what it is worth, my predictions are that:

1. Trump will be impeached and a few Democrats will vote no in the house. The Republicans will cry "partisanship" as loudly as they can.

2. The vote in the Senate will fall short of the majority with the possibility of one or two Republican Senators actually recognizing the truth of his absolute guilt and the very serious ramifications of that.

3. The impeachment will be old news by February ...

4. Trump will still maintain his base of "deplorables" through the November 2020 elections but he will lose in a close race in the electoral college. Several states may go to recounts. The integrity of the election will long be questioned but not necessarily for the correct reasons

God help us if #4 goes wrong ....

Of course, they would accuse Democrats of "partisanship".

But with the evidence before them, it would be the Repubs that put Party over country.

Unfortunately I don’t think it matters. I don’t think the needle will be moved much and I don’t see our elections being secured. The country is at a razor thin line as far as voting public goes with it being nearly 50/50. Couple that with our antiquated electoral system and it being easy to manipulate the results because of it I see them stealing this election again.

Early on, after the 2016 election it was said that Democrats were playing by rules that just didn’t matter anymore because rules don’t mean a thing to the GOP. I heartily believe that. The people with money behind the scenes will do anything to keep the system of power they have and we are powerless against it. I hate that I am in despair and know that I sound like I am giving up but I am heartbroken for my young kids and what we will have left them.

trump's cult followers will never change their mind, and that's just a fact. He has around 30% of the "diehard" base that will always see things his way.

The thing is that I don't see anyone who voted against trump last time, changing their mind and voting for him this time. They will continue to vote against him, and we all remember that Hillary had 3 million more votes than he did.

What I do see is some who voted for him last time will "NOT" do so this time. They may not vote for our nominee, but they won't vote for trump.

I also see more and more people getting registered to vote, and that's not going to help trump. More Hispanic voters, and more young voters will be voting, and that's good if we can get them all out to the polls.

And the best thing is that millions of voters sat the last election out for one reason or another. I think the majority thought there was no way in hell a person like trump could get elected. This time they won't be setting it out, they "WILL" vote, and that is not going to help trump either.

The bottom line is we need to get out the vote, and we need to make sure we vote "BLUE" no matter who our nominee is. We can't let the trolls and and assholes divide us. We have to unite to get trump out of office.

The Third Reich Republicans are treating the impeachment (and the many laws skirted or broken addressed therein), like it’s a “waste of time” that’s “kept our president from working for us,” and other such LIES.

These Trumpists assholes don’t give a damn about the law . Any law. Think about that... this is the United States, and we’ve got our first dictator, a Russian lap-dog, and a scofflaw group of traitors and cult-zombies who are overjoyed with the latest developments.

So...what’s next? What other laws will now be broken? Anything goes. The sky’s the limit. You KNOW that these “true believers” will do whatever they want to game the 2020 election.

It’s is crucial that Democratic and progressive voters swarm the polls in record numbers It’s do-or-die time. 4 more years of Trump would mean the end of United States democracy.

Recently with the 3 that seemed closest to the possibility of voting for impeachment.

I am sure he told them they would lose everything if they voted that way, committee assignments, money given to primary them, go after their family. Anything and everything.

I don’t expect a single vote on R side to go that way.

This type of change tends to take time. A significant shift has taken place since September, most importantly within the Democratic Party. There has been some increasing support among independents, too. As we approach the Senate trial, we aren't likely to see a huge increase. But once the trial starts, I expect increasing support for conviction. (A lot of Americans are busy with jobs and preparing for the holidays. That shifts in January and February.)

for Trump so instead of sending it to the Senate now I think Pelosi needs to play with Mitch and find ways to slow walk it to the Senate by saying it needs to be carefully investigated until September at the earliest.
Then when Mitch and the other Republicans refuse to convict him it will be fresh in the voters minds and it will also hurt the Republicans efforts to mitigate any damage to their reputations their actions will have caused.
Meanwhile our people can ready attack ads to direct at the varies Senators and maybe drive away voters from voting for them.
For example there is Collins as she will probably vote to impeach him and not because she has "concerns" over what he did but because she is trying to save her own political skin after he Kavanaugh "concerns" vote and she knows her vote will likely not matter as far as getting enough votes to remove Trump.
So I would focus not so much at creating ads to sway voters to vote for the Democrat but rather I would focus on ads designed to discourage the voters that might vote for her from even showing up.

Who was against it.
Because we pretty much know he wont be removed. Yes, its nice to know he'll be stained with the impeachment tag for the rest of his life, and to a person like him thats a HUGE slap in the face. But the election is less than a year away. Many people pay little attention to this because they dont understand the foreign contacts & everything else. The Clinton case was very simple. The peple who DO pay attention have already made up their minds.
Trump should be down in the polls by double digits right now. He's not.
I worry about Nov and who will be the candidate.
