Thanks for your reply because I got to read the quote in your signature line.
We have to grow up and begin planning for a future based on human need rather than capitalistic greed. We must, in short, begin thinking of ourselves as a species.
When you consider the wisdom of Chief Seattle and the love for all life that produced that wisdom, and compare it with the backdrop of Trump and laissez faire capitalism, it makes us all look awfully small and mean spirited as a people, doesn't it?

(14,559 posts)Putin has shown some real genius, but unfortunately he has applied it to tearing down instead of building up.
This nation has been under assault many years by the billionaire parasites who hated the New Deal and want to return us to laissez faire capitalism, the brutal system Dickens wrote about. Everything privatized, everything deregulated, and no social safety nets.
Putin saw these people, like Buchanan, and cleverly enlisted them.
I think we're fortunate the planned coup happened prematurely, before our system was rotted enough.
We have a real chance here to get our republic back. We'll see if we're smart enough to do that. If not, God help us.

(19,187 posts)on Morning Joe today. Most have heard this before, most DEMOCRATS, anyway, but it's nice to see it all laid out together. Imagine that: republicans sucking up to a Russian dictatorial regime because it reminds them of some idyllic false narrative about what America used to be like in their effed up memories. This is racism, sexism, and xenophobia personified.
