(32,080 posts)You could show that to them, but it won't matter. They'll just tell you it's all lies, and that Hillary just hasn't been caught yet, despite being one of the most-investigated people in this country's history. These people devoid of reality, and refuse to face it. It's time for someone to figure out a way to mass deprogram them

(15,204 posts)Somehow even a Republican congress couldn't find anything concrete to pin on Hillary Clinton because that nasty, nefarious "Deep State" was protecting her at every turn.
Whereas the Deep State was "clearly" working against Trump to generate all of those charges and indictments and prison sentences.
For me, this is probably one of the most depressing things Trump has revealed about America.
I've always know that there are people out there who could rationalize almost anything, no matter how absurd.
But finding out that as much as 40% of the people are capable of doing this, that they would rather believe bizarre and nonsensical conspiracy theories, accept patently ridiculous false equivalencies, or simply be so very willing to look the other way when they know there's corruption, so long as it helps them get their way or simply gives voice to their petty grievances, that is extremely disheartening.
