For 45 days - basically two years of getting locked up at the end of every week.

I think this is a fair sentence, considering all the help Gates gave to the Mueller investigation and also Adam Schiff's committee. If it weren't for Gates, Paul Manafort might have skated. Probably others too.

You can bet your bottom dollar there are crooks looking at this very closely. It’s not a bad deal at all to turn your fellow crooks in in order to get such a light sentence.

Heard on either Rachel or Lawrence tonight that that's exactly why Gates is getting a lighter sentence and that he'll be giving authorities much more evidence on others in yet undisclosed investigations.

Sentences like this also work for other guilty people. It makes them want to jump at the opportunity for such light sentences. They’re happier to co-operate.
