General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIt took three White House staffers THREE DAYS to write Trump's incoherent letter to Pelosi.
New York Times: Some of the presidents closest advisers were involved in drafting the letter, but they did not include Pat A. Cipollone, the White House counsel who will play a large role in a Senate trial.
Instead, Eric Ueland, the director of the Office of Legislative Affairs, led the process, with input from Stephen Miller, the presidents top policy adviser, who often scripts many of Mr. Trumps public remarks. Michael Williams, an adviser to Mick Mulvaney, the presidents acting chief of staff, also weighed in, and Mr. Uelands draft was framed over the last few days.

"Why do people say pee you?
1) It's a shortened term for puteo, which is Latin for "to stink, be redolent, or smell bad." I actually called a professor of Latin at the University of Florida to verify this one. 2) It's actually spelled "piu," but is often pronounced as "pee-yew". It's root is the Indo-European word "pu," meaning to rot or decay."
* It is often used when someone hears the name Stephen Miller.

He is Pepé Le Pew. Does he remind us of anyone else?
.....
It is fair to say these cartoons have not aged well (not a rare quality; see also Disneys Song of the South). But in the #MeToo era, Pepé Le Pews antics make you want to cover your face with your paws. Virtually his whole oeuvre is a series of jokes about males who no matter how clearly the point is made cannot possibly comprehend the magnitude of their own disgustingness.
Which leads us back to the president, who is kind of like Pepé Le Pew with neither French nor stench. This inspires me to ask you to join me in a game, which well call Who Said It Donald Trump or Pepé Le Pew?
You know, Im automatically attracted to beautiful.
She thinks that by running away she can make herself more attractive to me. How right she is!
I just start kissing them. Its like a magnet.
I am stupid, no?
Im like, smart!
Answers below, if you actually need them.
There is one thing that I did not know about Pepé Le Pew before watching his collected works: Hes not really French. In his very first appearance, Pepés lovemaking is interrupted by his wife, who calls out his name, Henry! Behind her are Pepés two little children. He tries to explain himself, and as he does, he speaks in his real voice, which has an American accent. His wife responds not by taking a plane alone to West Palm Beach but by whacking him on the head with an umbrella.
Pepés entire persona the French accent, the image of a carefree bachelor, his very name is a delusion. Just like Donald Trump and his failed university, and his failed steak company, and his failed casinos. Pepé Le Pew is fake meows."...(more)

(34,890 posts)They're playing the "victim" card here. They see that a large majority of the country wants this asshole removed from office, and it appears they think this stunt will change our minds, rather than showing us just how unhinged our so-called "President" is at the moment. It also serves to further stir up the cult. It reeks of desperation.
