He wanted the "Person of the Year" accolades, while not understanding that TIME's designation is not always an honor. I seem to recall that bin Laden was named it the year he slaughtered 3000+ Americans and others in one day.

that a malignant narcissist doesn't distinguish between positive and negative attention. Either one is fuel for them and they love being able to use the attention to prolong the attention. Back and forth from "I'm a victim!" to "See how great I am!" It all strokes their ego!
