I caught a few minutes of the rally. His face was red as beet. I was quite taken aback. He leans against those podiums. Very odd stance. I bet his BP was through the roof.

and a few of the Residents were in the same condition you described... unable to do anything physical except move their eyes, and their speech was unintelligible. Their minds were still intact though, and you could see from the look in those eyes - they were in a living hell.
