Check out the map of average temperatures in this article.

Some text:

The Bureau of Meteorology (Bom) said individual December temperature records had been broken in a number of places - with temperatures in the southern city of Adelaide hitting 45.3C.

Nullarbor, also in southern Australia, reached the scorching temperature of 49.9C.

Going to be a long hot summer down there.

I already had the obligatory sms from my Mum in Adelaide today with the declaration of just how hot it is with further instructions directing just where exactly the heat can go.

Australia is already a land of extremes and was always going to be one of the first places severe change would be noticed. Hope for some respite for everybody especially the firey's.

The information was used to describe how these events were signs that the End Times, religiously
speaking, were upon us. History does have a way of repeating itself.
