I think I am in with Michelle Obama, who said this in her book. I don't really like politics. And this debate reminds me why.
The bickering and attacking turns me off. It is all a big show for them. It is so annoying.

(56,262 posts)Back in the 70s there was interesting debate over facts and figures and policies. There was also the occasion pot shot or zinger.
Now it's all insults and labeling and tribe identification.
What a ridiculous way to run a country.

(9,298 posts)I like the strategy, the quick thinking. However, I loved watching my son in parliamentary debate. I dont see anything changing any ones mind, I like the brain fights. The better they present their case, the better then come across.

(8,153 posts)I remember the Hillary Clinton - Barack Obama debates. OMG, they tore into one another so bad it scared me. But they knew it was a debate, and each wanted to win, so they gave it all they had. That's what you do in a debate. You fight to win.
So don't worry about the arguments we're seeing tonight. After a Candidate is chosen, they'll all get behind them in support. We're Democrats... that's what we do.
