"The American people do not deserve to know the truth"...

That seems to be the Republican argument against permitting witnesses to testify in an impeachment trial in the Senate?

Over 70% of the people polled support witnesses in the trial. What are Republicans trying to hide? I think we all know the answer.

Are Republicans afraid of the truths that might come out? What are they trying to cover up?

They are telling the people they have no need to know if their President committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

He would do the most good for the Democrats.

Rudy would be the last choice for a number of reasons. He would claim that as Trump's attorney, he could not answer the most important questions. And that creates a situation that could take years to resolve. While an attorney can't keep secrets about crimes with clients, it would be a gamble. Equally important, Rudy would be unlikely to provide anything remotely resembling a serious answer to any question.

The other two fall somewhere in the middle. If Bolton testified, they would be at risk for future criminal prosecution, and could thus take the 5th.

After his "drug deal" and "grenade" comments, I think he wants to speak up. It doesn't matter if he wants to speak to glorify himself, so long as he speaks of facts.

have you HEARD the insane gibberish that comes out of this person's mouth (apparently every time he opens it)? Can anyone even figure out what he's talking about most of the time? I have to wonder at the value of his testimony.

How many of you DU folks are sick of phoney ass republican's that refuse to meet constituents, stand in front of cameras, especially the recent hearings, with flag "props" on their lapels speaking on behalf of "The American People"? They have not a clue and could care less. 2 things are a red flag for me as someone that should never be in office. The Flagged Lapel and every statement includes the "American People". Best thing about Jack-It-Off Jordan without a jacket is no lapel flag to disgrace. As John Prine almost had right, "Your "Flagged Lapel" will not get you, into heaven any more, it's already over crowded, from your dirty little war(s)"!

They would be well coached by McTurtle, Lindsay, the WH, Turley, etc.

They would be well warned that saying something not to its royal-lowness would be dangerous (death by a million tweets...)

They would also be told that 72 virgins (pick your brand) would be waiting if they sacrifice themselves.

At this point they are so deep into the mockery of ethics and fairness that a few more complete lies won't make much difference.
